Interim Superintendent
S. Shawn Bell has dedicated over two decades to public education and school leadership, serving the Oro Grande School District since July 2007. In January 2026, he was appointed Interim Superintendent after holding a wide range of leadership roles across the district, including elementary teacher, math teacher, athletic director, football coach, middle school principal, high school principal, Director of Special Education, Director of Personnel, Executive Director of Personnel/Human Resources, Assistant Superintendent of Personnel/HR, and member of the district’s executive leadership team.

With more than 25 years of experience in education, Mr. Bell is recognized as an effective administrator and collaborative leader with expertise spanning PreK–12 instruction, personnel management, special education, labor relations, staff development, and organizational leadership. His career has been defined by a strong commitment to student success, employee development, and building positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders.

Mr. Bell earned a Master of Science in Special Education and multiple educational credentials from National University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Communications from California State University, San Bernardino. He remains actively involved in professional organizations, including ACSA, AASA, CALPELRA, SHRM, and WASC, and has presented at statewide educational conferences on leadership and personnel practices.

As Interim Superintendent, Mr. Bell is committed to ensuring that the Oro Grande School District continues to provide exceptional educational opportunities and innovative programs for all students. His vision is for the Oro Grande School District to become the premier educational choice for families throughout the High Desert through academic excellence, strong community partnerships, and a student-centered approach to education.
